Department Summary:The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community.
Our team spans basic “bench-top” science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer’s disease.
Position Overview:Position will assist the ITR Administrative Core with department orders, reconciliations and reviewing allowable charges. Position will also assist with post award and purchasing job functions.
Minimum Qualifications:High school and five (5) years demonstrated full-time experience in working in a professional office setting with capability of performing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Or the standard wording for pay grade:
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

o:Assist with creating requisitions for all department orders
o:Responsible for reconciling sponsored and non-sponsored funds monthly
o:Effectively communicate with the Senior Financial Manager with any issues on ITR funds
o:Handle subcontract purchase orders and make sure encumbrances are correct
o:Assist with reviewing allowable sponsored charges
o:Attend financial meetings with the Senior Financial Manager, Dean, Department Chairs, program directors, faculty and staff, donors, and senior university financial personnel
o:Assist Senior Financial Manager with financial audits
o:Responsible for supply orders for the Clinical Resource Center
o:Track all payments, revenue and expenditures for all chart strings in the institute
o:Assist with post award and purchasing functions
