Description
The Director leads the day-to-day administrative medical responsibilities for the center including supervision, training and evaluation of health services staff. This key role is expected to ensure that all state and federal guidelines are upheld and best practices are followed for the delivery of health services including adequate staff training in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, PII, and other regulatory compliance; student immunization and insurance compliance.


This Director will work collaboratively with the Medical Director on the provision of medical services and serve on a team to assist and provide leadership in the management of campus public health emergencies. This incumbent will oversee an effective health promotion and education program for students including programs, services and workshops on health and wellness topics. The Director will ensure coordination of services with other health educators on campus including the Alcohol Education Program, Eating Disorders Program and the Dining Services dietician.


This leader provides oversight for the Health Center’s strategic planning, budget, and implementation and evaluation of all services and programs. The Director is responsible for the administration of the Health Center budget that has several sources of revenue including university budget support, insurance billing, and payment from student patients; oversees the management of all business functions including the processes of third party insurance billing, Bursar billing and check and cash handling. 

 
The Director of the University Health Center will be expected to advise senior administrators on student and public health related matters. As a senior member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team, the director will be engaged in Division-wide strategic planning and assessment activities and serve as part of a crisis management prevention and response team.



Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in Health Care Administration or related field.
  • At least seven (7) years of full-time professional health care or hospital administration with strong leadership experience.
  • Experience in Healthcare administration and management to include organization and supervision of healthcare staff.
  • Experience in Healthcare business functions including revenue models, health insurance, billing and financial processes, and management of electronic medical records.
  • Understanding of legal liability issues as they relate to college healthcare and confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to manage health crises.
  • Understanding of effective health promotion and education.
  • Understanding of college and university environments and appreciation of college student development.
