Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:In the Bryan School of Business & Economics, we create and disseminate knowledge about the theory and practice of business. In addition to our courses and research, we accomplish this through hands-on projects, global experiences, and outreach to the community. Position Summary:
The Bryan School of Business and Economics is seeking applicants for a full-time Director of Marketing and Communications position.
The primary purpose of the position is to develop, execute, manage, and measure the effectiveness of an integrated, strategic, and sustainable marketing program to elevate the brand of the UNCG Bryan School, overall. As the lead marketer for the School, in coordination with the Assistant Dean of External Affairs, this employee is granted independence to make decisions, strategic and financial, specific to the position’s responsibilities. In addition to managing a program budget, this position supervises multiple direct reports and the work of external service providers.
- A master’s degree OR a bachelor’s degree plus equivalent, relevant experience in the field of marketing, communications, and/or public relations.
- 7-10 years of direct marketing experience is required.
- Experience working in higher education.
- 10+ years of direct marketing experience.

Key Responsibility:Employee supervision
Essential Tasks:Provide supervision and oversight to two full-time employees, a Marketing Assistant and a Webmaster. Duties include coaching, training, delegating work assignments, and conducting performance appraisals.

Key Responsibility:Satisfy marketing and promotional needs of the Office of External Affairs.
Essential Tasks:Serve as an expert resource for the Bryan School’s Office of External Affairs, furthering the unit’s key initiatives: building the Bryan School brand, growing graduate enrollment, and enhancing relationships with community partners. Identify opportunities for improving engagement with key constituents and develop/implement marketing strategies for elevating the School.

Key Responsibility:Lead in integrating marketing efforts for all Bryan School departments/programs
Essential Tasks:Ensure brand consistency for the Bryan School through staying apprised of marketing efforts and promotional needs for six academic departments and various program offices. Advise departments on marketing best practices. Help departments with larger marketing initiatives through facilitating relationships with external service partners. As appropriate, integrate marketing needs of individual departments into cohesive School-wide campaigns.

Key Responsibility:Develop and lead the implementation of an annual marketing plan for the School
Essential Tasks:Research and implement best practices for marketing, staying abreast of industry trends in higher education. Through understanding of the School’s priorities and strategic initiatives, develop multi-channeled marketing plans. Demonstrate an awareness of consumers’ needs and interests. Develop and track metrics for gauging the efficacy of marketing strategies. Allocate resources as appropriate.

Key Responsibility:Manage relationships with UNC Greensboro external service partners.
Essential Tasks:Provide supervision and leadership with regards to project requests for external service partners. Responsibilities include communicating vision, clarifying expectations, project management, monitoring the quality of outputs, and issue resolution.
