Job Description Summary
The Betley lab researches neurobiology specifically looking at how the brain influences our motivation to respond to physiological needs, and how the brain senses, processes, and prioritizes sensory information to guide behavior. Through recent funding from the NIH and a private pharmaceutical company, the lab is growing and looking for a new Research Coordinator.

Job Description

This position will be intricately involved in leading team members to design, performing, analyze and present data on experiments such as behavioral testing; and act as the liaison between the lab and external grant funders and collaborators. There will be an opportunities to design, conduct, analyze, present and publish biological research. The job will entail administrative responsibilities as well, which may include, but are not limited to, organizing and filing research materials, data entry, proofreading, and staff management. There will also be opportunities to present at and travel to domestic conferences. Attendance at the annual Society for Neuroscience conference will be expected.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with neurobiology research, and, with proper training and in consultation with the PI, be able to carry out an array of experiments independently, or through delegation when appropriate. This position will require some scheduling flexibility and weekend work.
