Position Summary
The University of Denvers Lamont School of Music seeks an artist-teacher of Voice at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure track, beginning Fall Quarter 2021. We invite candidates with demonstrable success at the national level and who understand the changing landscape and challenges faced by todays practicing musicians. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive pedagogy. We are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion through their teaching, research, and service.

Essential Functions

  • Teach applied voice at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Maintain and develop a national or international reputation.
  • Recruit and maintain a voice studio of the highest quality.
  • Teach related courses in the vocal area as assigned.
  • Serve on School of Music and University governance committees as assigned or elected, audition committees for incoming students, and recital boards and/or examination committees for graduate students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with diverse populations, with particular implementation of inclusive principles in teaching.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Music.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Outstanding potential for developing a national or international reputation as a performing artist.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National or international reputation as a performing artist.
  • Advanced degree(s) beyond the Master's, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Openness to a broad range of musical styles.
  • Excellent record of teaching and recruitment at the University level.

Salary Range
Salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
