Part-time COVID-19 Case Manager FY 2021

Job Description

Position Summary

In keeping with CSN's commitment to the health and safety of all faculty, staff, students and visitors, CSN established a COVID-19 Case Management Team to quickly respond to identified positive cases or possible exposures within the CSN community. The purpose of case management is to reduce the on-campus impact of COVID-19, prevent further disease transmission, provide students and employees with information and resources as needed, and support the Southern Nevada Health District's (SNHD) contact-tracing efforts.

The Case Management Team monitors all incoming reports to [email protected] and conducts one or more of the following activities:

  • Contact reporting source
  • Identify positive or suspected positive case
  • Ensure case does not come to campus (self-isolation or self-quarantine)
  • Identify on-campus close contacts
  • Identify affected campus locations

  • Assist in communications to on-campus close contacts
  • Ensure contact(s) do not come to campus (self-quarantine)
  • Provide information and resources to cases and contacts as appropriate
  • Inform Facilities Management of affected locations

  • Monitor cases and contacts during isolation or quarantine
  • Continue to offer assistance or resources as appropriate
  • Ensure return to work/campus criteria is met

UNLV contact tracers complete the following training:
  • The 3-hour ASTHO training course: Making Contact: A Training for COVID-19 Contact Tracers
  • Background check
  • Nevada State Data Security & Confidentiality Training: Select the Data Security & Confidentiality Guidelines Training at
  • UNLV Risk Management HIPAA Training (we can review this with HR)
  • Returning Safely to Campus Training on WebCampus (this would be the CSN protocol - which you have already completed).
  • Southern Nevada Health District and State Confidentiality Forms

  • Monitor [email protected] for new reports and inquiry.
  • Immediate contact/timely phone calls to individual to obtain additional information and review specific case details.
  • Update CSN COVID log and case specific information.
  • Follow up with students that are positive and/or self-quarantine. CSN wants to ensure that students, faculty/staff on health status and/or if any follow-up is needed with instructors and/or other CSN departments.

Minium Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.

Salary range: $24/hour
