The Human Resources & Inclusive Community division is responsible for developing and delivering a broad range of services in support of the University's mission, vision and strategies. HRIC is evolving from a traditional operational and service orientation into a highly effective strategic unit advancing the broader strategic initiatives of the University.

In support of this evolution, the University is seeking a Compensation Analyst who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the compensation program as it relates to the University's long-range vision and strategic compensation objectives. The compensation strategy and program will support the University's aim to attract, reward, and retain world-class faculty and staff talent.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for execution of the day-to-day activities of the compensation program. The Compensation Analyst is responsible for all market pricing activities to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, while adhering to the University's over-arching compensation philosophy. Further, this role operates as a internal consultant, providing analytical expertise, guidance, and interpretation of compensation policies to managers and other University constituents. The Compensation Analyst participates in the project planning components relating to compensation program revision, development, and/or re-design.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluates jobs, determines pay grades, and performs associated analysis. Ensures that requests for pay adjustments comply with current compensation policy.
  • Effectively communicates with stakeholders regarding the results of analyses and provides consultation regarding compensation and talent management best practices.
  • Participates and administers the annual salary planning review process, including merit system administration.
  • Completes annual salary surveys and special compensation studies for purposes of maintaining the institutions competitive position within the market place.
  • Updates and enforces university compensation policies including government wage and hour regulations and employee movement and waiver guidelines.
  • Ensures job descriptions and org charts are accurate and complete when roles and/or structures change.
  • Performs monthly audits to manage and maintain compensation data.
  • Updates data to ensure accuracy and streamlines processes for effective administration of compensation programs.
  • Partners with IT and Shared Services to ensure employee data is accurate and meets all federal and state legal requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Compensation Manager on program design and implementation of new programs, processes, and efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in business administration or human resources.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary Range
Salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
