  • Position Description:

    Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Business Insights, the Business Insights Analyst will develop and maintain reports on business results and performance metrics to provide high level decision support. The BI analyst will use institutional data systems and visualization tools to share data with stakeholders. As a highly collaborative University role, the BI analyst will work within Finance and Administration and across divisions to help understand area needs in order to implement better data delivery methods and provide a robust set of tools to decision makers. The BI analyst will help facilitate data discussions with stakeholders and be a champion for a culture of data informed decision making. The BI Analyst operates in a dynamic environment simultaneously supporting multiple organizational initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    Education/experience/licensing:

      The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Experience with SQL or other database query methods or a desire and ability to learn.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet softwareExperience with data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or comparable tools or a desire and ability to learn.Experience with statistical packages such as SPSS or JMP or a desire and ability to learn.
    Communication and other skills:

      Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex results to a broad audience.Must be an inquisitive, lateral thinker.

    Working Conditions:Works in a professional office environment with possible high stress levels.
