Job Summary/Basic Function:

Manage and teach online graduate Music Education courses, including:
MUSC 510 Foundations of Music Education
MUSC 524 Analytical Techniques
MUSC 531 Bibliography & Research
MUSC 525 Advanced Contemporary Arranging Techniques
MUSC 620 Music in America
MUSC 630 Principles of Music Technology
MUSC 640 History & Philosophy of Music Education
MUSC 650 Research in Music Education
MUSC 670 Principles of Curricula & Pedagogy for Music Education
MUSC 687 Music Education Curriculum Project
Teaching responsibilities include:
Teaching online Music Education courses as assigned.
Teaching online Music Education research courses
Serve as advisor for Graduate Music Education Theses
Faculty responsibilities include:
Working directly with the Instructional Mentor in all courses
Counseling, advising and mentoring students as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or DMA in Music Education
2 years university level teaching experience
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong collaborative skills
Demonstrated ability in directing student research

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or DMA in Music Education
5 years university level teaching experience
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong collaborative skills
Significant experience directing student research as advisor/chair of Thesis or Doctoral Dissertation committee

Work Hours:

15-18 hours
