Job Summary:Contact DMACC students taking online courses to offer information and resources.
Essential Functions:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with high level of accuracy and efficiency:
Check-in with and serve as a referral and support resource for students transitioning into remote learning.
Communicate to students in a clear and concise manner and document all conversations in the appropriate area of the student management system.
Assist students in speaking with various offices and utilizing available resources, remotely when appropriate.
Provide general information related to course delivery types, tutoring and academic achievement resources, and distance learning information.
Provide information for resources to assist students who may be struggling with food or housing insecurity, or other life challenges presenting obstacles to their remote learning.
Work to resolve issues while serving as a liaison between the student and other departments; explain and follow school policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of student records, following FERPA and data security requirements at all times.
Provide outreach to remote learners who are referred via the college’s Early Alert Referral system.
Contribute as needed to ongoing continuous improvement efforts related to remote student success.
Provide excellent customer service and communication skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have the ability to work from home and a secure reliable internet connection.
Desired Qualifications:Previous experience in the field of higher education student services.
