Primary Purpose of Department:

We provide highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative and service goals.

Primary Purpose of Position:

This position provides second tier technology support for university constituents. This position serves as a technical consultant on academic and research projects for applications, operating systems, hardware, networking, and information security.

This position is responsible for the routine and non-routine maintenance and support of desktop, laptop and tablet computer systems including software and hardware.

This position supports the hardware, software and research computing needs of faculty.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

-Provide excellent customer service

-Provide troubleshooting expertise for hardware and software

-Image computers; desktops, laptops, tablets

-Provide consulting services for academic and administrative technology needs

-Work as a team sharing information and ideas

-Work on special projects

-Maintain advanced level expertise in common and specialized computing technology, hardware, software, systems and applications

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor degree

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

-Experience with SCCM, JAMF, or both as tools for software maintenance. Familiarity with Apple and Microsoft environments

-Previous experience in a higher education or K-12 setting. Experience designing and implementing technology within teaching spaces including computer classrooms.

-Graduation from a four year college or university and two and one-half years of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role
