Position Summary:

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratories of Dr. Johanna Kowalko and Dr. Alex Keene. The Kowalko and Keene labs focus on understanding the genetic and neural bases of behavior using the blind Mexican cavefish. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigators of the labs, and will carry out research projects independently and in collaboration with other laboratory members. The postdoc will work on projects related to the mechanisms underlying social behavior and sleep. In addition to research, the postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students in the laboratory, and the PIs will work with the postdoc to find opportunities to gain teaching experience, if desired. The PIs will provide opportunities for scientific and professional development. The postdoc, under the mentorship of the PIs, will develop projects, execute experiments and writing manuscripts.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD from an accredited institution by time of appointment required.

Prior to appointment, the candidate must submit official, sealed transcripts from all institutions where graduate coursework was attempted, whether or not a degree was obtained, as well as an original NACES evaluation, if applicable. Transcripts must be issued to Florida Atlantic University not to you as the student.
