Summary of Duties:

The Extension Coordinator Senior is responsible for providing oversight and leadership for PICOL and IPE. Manage the PICOL database, which provides an accurate and up-to-date database of all registered pesticide labels in Washington and Oregon. Manage the contracts, invoicing, and communications with PICOL partners and clients, and interface with CAHNRS IT on database development and troubleshooting. Present training and create educational materials on the use of the PICOL database with researchers, extension educators, Master Gardeners, and the pest control industry. Coordinate IPE by hosting Internet self-paced courses and live webinars, updating platforms (Talent LMS, PDShop, reporting database), providing customer service, and preparing and submitting monthly regulatory reports. Train and supervise support staff to support these duties. Reports to the Pesticide Education Specialist.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related program experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

This position requires the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule during the week including nights and weekends occasionally requiring overnight travel.
Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid WSDA pesticide license at time of hire.
Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid unrestricted driver’s license at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline.
Experience with pesticide registration and legal constraints for pesticide use/recommendations.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining WSU public records retention schedules.
Demonstrated history of developing and managing web sites.
Demonstrated ability in creating, distributing, and analyzing user surveys.
Knowledge of WSU policies and procedures relate to processing contacts, invoicing, and pesticide policy.
Spanish language skills.
