Embedded System Hardware and Firmware Design Engineer

Summary
This opportunity is to develop a prototype of a new groundbreaking product for improving construction safety. We are looking for a talented and passionate Embedded System Hardware and Firmware Design Engineer to join our team. You will focus on both the electrical and software engineering aspects of architecture, design, optimize, and analysis of products for our new device. You will have technical oversight for embedded system development and will participate in cross-functional collaboration for verification and project deliverables.

Responsibilities <html><b><u>Job Duty 1 - </u></b>
Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 2 - </u></b>
Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 3 - </u></b>
Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 4 - </u></b>
May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 5 - </u></b>
Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 6 - </u></b>
Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Up to two years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Key Qualifications
o Experience in product development from concept to production
o Experience in system-level architecture development within embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) system
o Experience with arm core microprocessors and its firmware
o Experience in communication protocols such as Bluetooth, BLE, UART, I2C, SPI, USB, and GPIO
o Experience in schematic capture, PCB development, manufacturing productization, and overall hardware design
o Experience in the physical design, analysis, and system integration of high-reliability multi-layer PCB layout using OrCAD or KiCAD
o Electrical system testing including design verification, prototype debug, and failure analysis
o Board-level assembly and testing
o Technical knowledge of wireless mesh networking is plus
o Experience with IMU sensor is plus
o BS/MS in the related engineering field and work experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.
