The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of 5 health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER).

Founded in 2017, CIPhER’s mission focuses broadly on improving the practice of pharmacy education and the quality and impact of research and scholarship on pharmacy education by coordinating and fostering the efforts of the School’s faculty, clinical preceptors, postgraduate fellows, residents and teaching assistants. CIPhER also aims to help faculty and others design, implement, present and publish educational research and scholarship. In addition, the Center helps faculty compete for education-related grants – and generate income by commercializing education-related products such as: surveys, inventories, tests, teaching materials, online instruction, and digital applications. To achieve these aims, CIPhER offers onsite and online training workshops and institutes, hosts the School’s Teaching and Learning Certificate program, provides consultation, and coordinates relevant, mutually beneficial efforts with entities such as the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence, other UNC health science schools, the UNC School of Education, ACCP, and the PharmAlliance. To support, facilitate, and advance this work, we are seeking to hire up to three (3) highly qualified summer interns. The selected candidate(s) will receive an 8-week appointment as an intern. The internships will provide exposure and mentored experience across a wide range of educational research activities supporting CIPhER’s core mission, including study design, data collection, data analysis, and academic writing. The anticipated appointment will be from June 7, 2021 to July 30, 2021, although start and end dates can be adjusted based on Center and intern needs.
