Department The Advising First mission is to provide a network of professional academic advisors and success coaches who support students as they establish and realize their personal, academic, and career goals at The Florida State University. The primary focus of our program is to assist and guide students so they are retained at the University from time of enrollment through to graduation. With expertise on university policies, resources and opportunities, and extensive training in effective guidance, our Advising First professionals promote student progress and growth throughout their academic careers. Through the relationships with advisors and/or coaches, our students are empowered to take personal responsibility and ownership of their educational endeavors. Coordinating SLS1203 course to include development of the curriculum, course building, instructor selection and training, and ongoing staff support.

Analyze student data and course outcomes to measure results and drive continuous improvement.

Responsible for recruitment for and advertising of the SLS1203 course. Conducts presentations for orientation, visitor center, and other venues when needed.

Provide oversight to the Exploratory Peer Advising Leader (EPAL) program of undergraduate students that work with the course.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to six years.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience using applicable computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and basic computer functionsAnticipated Salary Range Minimum salary of $35,705Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Schedule If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
