Schedule: Part time, variable to meet needs of department

Position Purpose
The Cashier & Fiscal Services Support Specialist is a key member of the fiscal department. The primary responsibility of the position is to ensure that accurate receipt of payment at Hocking College’s various points of cash collection. The position will also be responsible for various supporting functions within the fiscal department as assigned by the supervisor. This position will be a part of implementing new processes to support the College’s growth and mission.

  • Act as cashier for various points of cash collection at Hocking College
    • Welcome and help answer questions of customers
    • Operate scanners, cash registers, and other electronics
    • Balance the cash register and generate reports for credit and debit card sales
    • Accept payments, ensure price and quantity is correct, and provide receipts
    • Follow college policy and procedures related to refunds
    • Follow college policy and procedures related to cash controls
    • Maintain a clean work space
  • Provide support to various functions within the fiscal department
    • Purchasing
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Budgeting
    • Payroll
    • Financial Reporting
    • Third Party Billing
  • Operate within the college’s policies and procedures
  • Provide confidential information for bargaining unit contract negotiations
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
    Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
    • Associate’s Degree is required. Associates Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
    • 1 to 3 years of cashier, teller, or other fiscal experience preferred
    • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles preferred
    • Accurate and thorough in completing tasks
    • Attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • High level of integrity
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Proficient in technology related to the field
  • Associate’s Degree is required. Associates Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
