Minimum Qualifications:Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:At least 2 years of UGA Accounting, Payroll and Budget Management Experience with Peoplesoft Highly desirable.
Position Summary:This position serves as the Senior Accountant in the Warnell Fiscal Office with wide-ranging responsibilities including accounting and purchasing for all our accounts, payroll functions. supervision of work study students, paying all invoices and process other forms of invoicing and payments, and other functions as listed in the duties section. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:Considerable knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and purchasing procedures. Ability to compile, interpret, and audit financial reports. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Extensive computer experience in Windows environment including spreadsheets, wordprocessing, E-mail, and the Internet. A high regard for customer service while serving a diverse clientele of faculty, staff, students, and external entities. Ability to maintain confidentialit and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships as part of the fiscal office team and the larger University community. Peoplesoft experience is highly desirable.

Duties/Responsibilities:Compile and distribute monthly budget status reports to faculty and staff for non-grant accounts and rectify overdraft situations. Interpret data within these reports as needed and provide detailed feedback. Prepare journal vouchers as needed to correct transactional errors.

Duties/Responsibilities:Serve as UGAMart requisitioner for all of Warnell, preparing purchase requisitions as requested by faculty and staff. Prepare payment requests for all invoices, non-employee, etc. Process Expense Reports for reimbursement of non-travel expenditures and petty cash. Utilize PCard to make purchases not available through other means. Ensure that purchases are allowable under UGA policies, within grant guidelines, and/or in accordance with study abroad and field studies approved budgets. Check that funding is available and rectify issues as they arise. Maintain an auditable electronic filing system for all documentation.
