The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a candidate for a tenure-ineligible Assistant Professor position (Clinical Faculty Track) to join our experienced Interventional Endoscopy team at the UVA Medical Center. Interested applicants must be committed to an academic career in Interventional/Advanced Endoscopy with a focus on clinical care, teaching, clinical research, and other scholarly activity. The applicant will be expected to manage patients in clinic, perform advanced/interventional endoscopic procedures (EUS, ERCP, EMR), attend on the inpatient GI service, participate in and develop projects in clinical research, and assist with teaching of fellows and residents. Training and experience in ESD and POEM is desired. Additional desired qualifications include demonstrated experience in leadership, medical education, and clinical work in improving health care disparities.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be board-eligible or board-certified in Gastroenterology, and must have completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship by the appointment start date.
