Position Highlights:The Trade Maintenance Mechanic II reports to the Campus Agricultural Center, located at 4101 N. Campbell Avenue in Tucson. This position performs general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. This person will work under the supervision of the General Maintenance Supervisor who is responsible for the maintenance of the facilities at the Southern Arizona Experiment Station (SAES), which includes the Campus Agricultural Center, West Campus Agricultural Center, Red Rock Agricultural Center, Santa Rita Experimental Range, and AI-Marah Equine Center. SAES supports the eleven College of Agriculture and Life Sciences departments that provide research, teaching, and extension programs. The Ag Centers operate from a central main office in Tucson and is directed by Stephen Husman. Travel is required throughout the greater-Tucson area so a valid driver's license is necessary at the first day of employment. This position may require working some evenings or weekends.

- Performs complex plumbing, electrical, and carpentry maintenance and repairs.
- Performs general painting and repairs to furniture.
- Serves as a technical resource in area of expertise such as welding, utility piping, roofing, locksmith work, HVAC, flooring, and other maintenance repairs and services.
- Uses power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
- Operates forklifts, dollies, and other basic loading and unloading equipment as required.
- Drives trucks to transport materials such as: furniture, supplies, or equipment as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
- Skill in applying building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to drive according to the Fleet Safety Policy.
Experience in electrical repair and installation. Current Commercial Driver’s License or the willingness to obtain one.

Our Main and Health Sciences campuses are located near downtown Tucson.
