Position Highlights:

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jason Karnes in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Scicence at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Karne's laboratory conducts research in precision medicine, focused on cardiac and immuno-pharmacogenomics. We employ clinical and translational research approaches to determine genetic variation associated with efficacy and safety of widely prescribed medications. Work will include assessment of genomic signals in drug response through genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review literature, conceptualize hypothesis, design and conduct experiments, analysis results, and publish in peer-reviewed literature.
  • Prepare manuscripts and grants.
  • Communicate analysis results with PI and collaborators.
  • Present results at conferences and national/international meetings.
  • Exercise independent discretion and judgement in carrying out the research.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or professional doctorate with prior research training/experience in genomics, pharmaceutics or a related discipline.
  • Team player, as well as an independent researcher.

Preferred Qualifications:
