The University of Arizona is accepting applications for Postdoctoral Research Assoiate I. The selected candidate will work in the laboratory of Jun Wang in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology within the College of Pharmacy. The candidate will participate NIH-funded research projects in designing and developing small molecule antivirals targeting emerging and re-emerging viruses.

- Design retro-synthesis route for screening hits and perform structure-activity relationship studies.
- Optimize the invitro and in vivo pharmacokinetic properties of lead compounds.
- Interpret structure activity relationship and structure property relationship results and design corresponding optimization strategies.
- Participate in and present results and literature in group meetings and department seminars.
- Write manuscripts for publication and present results in conferences.
- PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse group.* Willing to learn techniques and methodologies.FLSA:
