Position Highlights:

The postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physiology at The University of Arizona will oversee the on-site day-to-day operation of an NIH/NIA funded Clinical Trial under the oversight of the Principal Investigator Dr. E. Fiona Bailey. He/she will be responsible for the measurement and analysis of blood pressure, flow mediated dilation, and carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity and perform related data analysis (generating computerized statistical data for analytical purposes and judging the validity of the data).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of research manuscripts(original manuscripts with research data or reviews) and research reportsrelated to your projects.
  • Preparation and submission of abstracts and participation inconferences in the area of biomedical sciences (one conference per year will becovered by your supervisor).
  • Participating in the preparation and submission of research andfellowship grant applications..
  • Work with and mentor other lab personnel in projectimplementation, data collection and analyses, writing manuscripts and grantapplications.
  • Perform experiments.
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Report progress regularly.
  • Write manuscripts and grant applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed PhD, and have independentresearch ability,
  • Hands-on experience with cellcultures, preclinical studies, and statistics.,
  • Proficiency with common computersoftware, physiology data analysis programs, and biostatistical software.

Preferred Qualifications:

*Laboratory experience in clinical research, exercise physiology, cardiovascular or neurovascular physiology. *Experience working directly with patients or human subjects. *Ability to work in a research-intensive environment. *Strong writing and communication skills. *Problem-solving and organizational skills. *Detail-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication.
