Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

Previous experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Proven experience handling difficult situations or people.
Proven ability to work and meet strict deadlines.
Able to work nights and weekends other than normal business hours as needed for special events and deadlines during peak semester periods.
Able to work in a team and independently.
Able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Documented experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with varied stakeholders.
Able to work with customers face to face as well as via phone and email.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of VAONCE data system or Hazlewood Reporting.
Knowledge of Banner data system.
Previous VA Office experience.
Previous honorable military service (DD-214 Member 4 required).
Previous experience in supervision, training, and hiring of employees.
Proven excellent customer service with minimum 1-year experience

Job Description:

Responsible for providing administrative and general clerical support to management/staff within assigned division/department or unit.

Job Duties:

Responsible for processing & certification of military-connected education benefits.
Assist in training of Veteran Affairs (VA) work study employees.
Creates and maintains Excel databases for VA and Student Business Services offices.
Provides general information to students, faculty and staff about VA education benefits and Hazlewood Act benefits.
Tracking ongoing student benefit eligibility, degree requirements, registration verification, and residency status.
Provides assistance and information to customers via phone, emails, and in person in a professional and private manner.
Maintain discretion of student’s personal information per FERPA and VA Privacy Act.
Maintain professional appearance and provide excellent customer interactions.
Review and code system and certify coursework for VA payment.
Oversee and assist with filing and tracking VA student electronic files.
Able to interact with diverse customer population.
Work hours other than 8-5, M-F if needed.
Assist in achieving departmental goals.
Additional duties as assigned.
