Primary Function:The Biology Department at The University of the South seeks a molecular biologist for a two year visiting assistant professor position at one of the nation’s top liberal arts institutions. We are interested in candidates with training in molecular biology, broadly defined, and who would be able to teach a variety of molecular biology courses, such as introductory molecular biology, cell biology, genetics and/or biochemistry.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities:The position has a 3/3 teaching load with both lecture and lab sections counting toward that total. The candidate could also develop courses in their area of speciality.
Education:Ph.D. required.
Experience:Candidates should be enthusiastic about teaching small interactive classes at a liberal arts college. The successful candidate may also opt to develop a research program with opportunities for undergraduate involvement.
