Position Summary

Assembles and analyzes medical records to ensure completeness; files loose sheets into records in a timely manner to assure an accurate and complete patient record; releases health information according to procedures and legal guidelines; prepares medical records for clinician use, including pharmacy and prescription diet orders, appointments, retrospective studies, etc.; provides leadership to student employees of the Clinical Information Services unit.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in typing, word processing, database, spreadsheet and/or data entry applications, using archival equipment and knowledge of medical terminology and/or technical training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel software.
