Position Summary

Supervises day-to-day operations and deliverables of a newly-formed Analytics team. Prioritizes workload and works in conjunction with Computer Information Systems (CIS) group in ITS for accurate reporting and strategies to provide information both internally and externally to USD. Identifies, designs and manages data collection, data analysis, and reporting in order to analyze complex supply chain functions; collaborates with supply chain and information technology professionals to create or interface with digital data systems or models; recommends enhancements to business processes to improve data collection and results. Provides functional technical knowledge of databases and business operations to suggest best practice information gathering to accomplish the task; Validates information included in reports prior to delivering final analytics; Develops strategic and tactical supply chain performance measures and metrics using multiple data sources; Collaborates with business units, customers, and stakeholders to conduct business process analysis and improvement initiatives; Designs reports and presentations for university administration, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders; Supervises Analytics team members with workload balance, skillset enrichment, cross functional training; Work creatively to determine revenue generating/enhancing options to assist USD as a minimally general funded unit.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in Educational Administration, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in statistical methods or data management and analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with data warehouse SQL queries; knowledge of MSU supply chain systems; knowledge of Tableau, Excel/Pivot tables, IBM Cognos, Microsoft PowerBI; knowledge of server setup and database administration.
