The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an INTERNAL ONLY candidate for an Administrative Manager in the Daniel Library. This position works directly under the supervision of the Director of the Daniel Library; responsible for collaborate with library and campus personnel. Must have broad discretion in setting up procedures for accurate time sheet reporting, payroll implementation, fiscal accounting, and vendor liaison activities. Manages the Kronos for the Library as well as Archives and Museum.

Responsible for coordinating personnel activities to include; travel reimbursements, petty cash, hiring and termination procedures, and recruitment. Serves as the resource person on all personnel policies and procedures. Performs/coordinates activities related to fiscal management of procurement, supply services, and auxiliary services of the library. Will provide oversight and support for programming, budgeting, account reconciliation, and facilities management. Collaborates and actively participates in library projects, when needed and assists Library Director with planning and organizational needs. Conducts confidential correspondence and complex special assignments relating to the Daniel Library, Museum & Archives, Friends and library facilities. Upholds and demonstrates a commitment to the library’s mission, vision, and values - Collaboration, Communication, Innovation, Leadership, Learning and Professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for required work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to library administrative/management function.
  • Knowledge of higher education fiscal and personnel procedures, practices, and policies. Ability to coordinate diverse administrative/management functions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of subordinate personnel.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals.
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with library/museum faculty and staff, Human Resources, Financial Services, Procurement, Public Safety, members of the Friends of the Daniel Library, and vendors.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in interpreting and applying library and campus policies and procedures. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Must be adept at using personal computers, word processing software, and other office equipment.
  • Must be familiar with various software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet. Employee must be approachable, organized, and detail-oriented. Serves as office and building manager.
