The School of Business at University of North Texas at Dallas invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of applied statistics to join our faculty team beginning in fall semester, 2021.
Position Summary:The successful candidate will be strongly committed to teaching introductory, senior level, and graduate statistics courses, conducting high quality peer-reviewed research, and contributing to further developing the business statistics curriculum based on their area of expertise. All areas of applied statistics will be considered. The candidate must also be dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of statistics students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Minimum Qualifications:Candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest and experience in curriculum development and teaching and mentoring non-traditional and diverse students.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in statistics or closely related field prior to employment. ABD candidates will be considered.
- Evidence of, or potential for, research excellence in statistics.
- Evidence of excellence in Teaching and ability to teach graduate level statistics.
- A strong preparation in mathematics and statistics.
- An ability to contribute to departmental missions.
