Transfer Database and Degree Works Specialist (Contractual)

Brief Summary of Job Duties

  1. Operating as the subject matter expert on Degree Works including, but not limited to, understanding the Scribe language and functionality within Degree Works; the audit worksheet functionality; exceptions, petitions, and waivers; the analytical capabilities of the software and related tools; and how those components inter-operate to impact output and audit results for the customer. Ensure delivery of existing services and the development of new functionality and services in Degree Works (degree audit, Student Educational Planner System, and Transfer Equivalency). Entering and maintaining equivalencies in the SureCode software on the back end and entering transfer exceptions into the Degree Works Dashboard on the front end. Communicate effectively internally through written reports, regular meetings and teleconferences, to keep management and co-workers apprised of software and customer issues that impact the successful and smooth deployment of Degree Works. Input course and program requirements using the Degree Works tools. College in and Transfer Evaluation System (); Work with Associate Registrar to ensure development and accuracy of all data and processes involving equivalencies; maintain an ever-evolving live database of transferable credits from national and international institutions. Respond promptly to customer issues, questions, and requests. Perform other duties as required.

Requested Minimum Qualifications                 
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in any discipline, from an accredited college or university. At least two (2) years of experience within a Collegiate Registrar’s Office is required. Significant front-end and back-end experience with a student information system (Banner) is also required.

“Contractual employee” means a person who under a written agreement provides personal services to the University for remuneration, for a specific period of time and is not employed in a budgeted position. Faculty, students, consultants and independent contracts are excluded from this definition.1.Contractual employees at Morgan State University shall be eligible for certain benefits to include compensation for eight (8) holidays, six (6) days of annual leave and three (3) days of leave which can be used for either personal reasons or for illness. Benefits for part-time employees shall be earned at a rate of 50% of full-time contractual employees. Contractual employees whose contracts are funded by external sources (e.g., grants) may be eligible for greater benefits.
