Nature of Work:

Assist personnel with clerical tasks, scanning, and special projects.

This is a 19 1/2 hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Associate Director of Career & Academic Advising The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time, even if class is cancelled or dismissed early.

Essential Duties:

•Extends excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors.
•Present career and academic related topics to groups of students.
•Inform students of resume and cover-letter writing basics.
•Interact with employers during recruiting events.
•Assists in setting up, executing and cleaning up events.
•Assists with registration process for students using Focus2, Coastal Careerlink, CCGA Portal and other COMPASS systems.
•Assists with marketing efforts of the department including creating signage, banners, social media campaigns and emails.
•Distributes flyers and other information on COMPASS.
•Prepares and files documents for long and short term storage.
•Completes tasks including typing, copying, faxing, shredding, etc.
•Creates various brochures, flyers, forms and surveys.
•Runs errands on campus.
•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

Must be enrolled in six credit hours.

•Must utilize Coastal Careerlink for assistance in writing your résumé and cover letter and have your résumé and cover letter approved by COMPASS prior to applying for this position. Students who do not follow this process will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

•Must possess strong customer service and communication skills.
•Must be dependable.
•Must have knowledge of general office equipment.
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
•Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups.
•Must present a professional image in dress and mannerisms at all times.

Varies with student's academic schedule
