Financial Aid Counselor - National & Global Education
Position Summary:
Serves Indiana Wesleyan University’s National & Global Campus student population by helping them navigate through federal and state student aid application processes. Determines eligibility and awards federal and state student financial aid. Communicates financial aid information and concepts to students and colleagues while respecting student privacy and security.
NOTE: This position would not come available until January 2021 and remote work will be considered.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, National & Global Campus – either at Marion or at Indianapolis North Education Center location.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent financial aid work experience

Qualifications:

- Ability to gain knowledge and practical understanding of federal, state, and institutional student financial aid administration and apply this knowledge accurately and efficiently to student financial award packages
- Effective oral and written communication skills and comfortable working in a computerized environment and coordinated call center office setting; sound problem solving and analytical skills
- Capacity to work independently and within a team environment with attention to detail along with the ability to keep sensitive information secure and private
- Previous experience with student financial aid administration desired
- Fluency in Spanish as a second language desired
