Essential Job Duties:

This assignment is an as needed position for for coverage during staffing shortages. Provide in-person and telephone care and assistance to clients, medical staff, and rDVMs; assume administrative responsibilities from scheduling referral appointments until the point of discharge and any follow-ups necessary; use responsible financial practices in relation to collecting payments from clients.

Minimum Experience/Education:

High School Diploma or equivalency
Prefer at least one year of related office experience in a very busy office setting or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Department Required Skills:

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, faculty and staff.
Prefer experience dealing with emotionally stressed individuals in a positive manner, attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and handle a multiple line phone system while providing excellent care to clients on the phone and in person simultaneously.
Ability to interpret Veterinary Hospital guidelines and client needs to determine emergency situations.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

Prefer previous experience in client services/reception, particularly in a medical setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology specifically related to veterinary medicine a plus.
Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
