Temporary Lab Technician
TemporaryEssential Job Duties:
This position will be primarily responsible for assisting the PI and other lab personnel (postdocs and graduate students) with animal research. Specifically, tasks will include husbandry (feeding, watering, handling and weighing animals) as well as research procedures such as gavage, injections, blood glucose measurements, etc. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with rodents in a research environment.
Although not the primary focus, this individual may also assist the PI and lab
members with other aspects of lab management, including waste management, lab inventory, reagent preparation,
basic experiments, etc.

-Associates degree (or higher) in laboratory science or related field AND laboratory and/or animal handling experience (Nutrition Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, or related field).Department Required Skills:
-Possess at least 6 months of prior experience in laboratory research or animal husbandry
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Prior experience with rodent work (gavage, injection, blood collection, etc.), prior laboratory/research experience.Required License or Certification:
