Job Summary
Serve as a member of an audit team assigned to operational and financial audits of various campus organizations. Includes fieldwork, reporting, and consultation. This is an entry level professional position. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: auditing staff and members of the campus community. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Participate in conducting basic audits of financial transactions and related records in accordance with the audit plan.
Job Duty 2 -
Participate in conducting operational reviews to ensure compliance in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as laws and applicable regulations and guidelines.
Job Duty 3 -
Assist in developing detailed test procedures for the applicable audit area.
Job Duty 4 -
Assist in writing and executing programs to provide audit assurance, compliance, internal control reviews and consultations.
Job Duty 5 -
Prepare and document working papers in sufficient detail to outline procedures performed and results obtained and assist in drafting audit reports.
Job Duty 6 -
Research and interpret federal regulations, the Georgia Code, Board of Regents Policy and University System of Georgia procedures to determine applicability to the audit area.
Job Duty 7 -
Assist with opening and closing conferences with management.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Zero to three years of job related experience
SKILLS
This job requires basic knowledge of financial and management auditing principles and practices. Use of office, accounting and other specialized computer software is required.
