Job Summary

Serve as lead in performance of general carpentry work to include building, installing, repairing and maintaining of structures, furniture, doors, windows by assigning and directing work of carpentry personnel. May personally perform specialized or advanced level carpentry work. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisors, carpentry personnel, helpers. This position typically will advise and counsel: Carpentry Foreperson, other carpentry personnel. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Assign duties, provide instruction and oversee work of other carpentry personnel in the building, installation, repair and maintenance of structures, framing, flooring, etc.

Job Duty 2 -
Requisition materials and supplies.

Job Duty 3 -
Prepare work reports.

Job Duty 4 -
Build wood furniture and fixtures to include cabinets, tables, shelving, bulletin boards.

Job Duty 5 -
Inspect finished work with regard to quality and adherence to specifications.

Job Duty 6 -
Oversee maintenance of tools and equipment.

Job Duty 7 -
Advise Carpentry Forepersons and others regarding performance of assigned personnel.

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires skill in providing work direction and leadership as well as advanced carpentry trade skills to include ability to read and interpret sketches, prints and diagrams; operate and maintain various hand and power tools and maintain related records.
