Salary: $20.89 - $41.37 monthly
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Partnerships and the Assistant Director, CCCP serve as the primary coordinator for an academic collaborative between Los Angeles Pierce College and UCLA in connection with the UCLA Center for Community College Partnerships. The initial full-time contract position will be for one year. Continuation beyond that date is contingent upon available funding, up to a maximum of four years.
The Program Coordinator (Program Representative II) will facilitate the partnership between UCLA and Los Angeles Pierce College to develop and implement the partnership programs. The program is designed to plan and implement a collaborative focusing on retention and transfer. Activities include supplemental activities throughout the year. The purpose is to teach students how to navigate the community college system; complete the appropriate coursework; and maximize their time in order to make a smooth and successful transition to a University of California or other four-year college or university campus.
Working with the Assistant Director and Assistant Vice Provost, the Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and implementing of all of the activities related to the LAPC Program, including faculty discipline dialogues, mini conferences and meetings, Saturday Academies and Summer Programs; all of which requires the development of materials; communication to students, staff, faculty and administrators; hiring and training peer mentors; and overseeing the logistical and administrative aspects of the program. In addition, the program coordinator will serve as liaison with other UCLA departments, community colleges, high schools, non-profit organizations, businesses and off-campus vendors.
The coordinator will engage in collaborative efforts with other university departments currently sponsoring outreach efforts, including Early Academic Outreach and Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools. Establish and maintain liaisons with university units concerned with diversity issues including the Student-Initiated Outreach Committee, the Academic Advancement Program, the Center for Engineering Excellence and Diversity, the Center for Academic Research and Excellence, and other such programs.
The coordinator must professionally represent the University to the public, exercise a high-level of independent professional judgment, possess strong coordinating, supervisory, computer and communication skills and be extremely meticulous.
Must be able to maintain regular schedule and on-time attendance.
