The Department of Radiology, School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina is committed to excellence in providing radiological services to the people of North Carolina, training future radiologists and engaging in basic and clinical research. The physicians provide services to patients at UNC Hospitals as well as additional sites across the state. Position Description:

The Department of Radiology at UNC-CH is seeking a Social/Clinical Research Assistant to work in our Clinical Research Division. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance for research projects for the Department of Radiology’s Clinical Research Division. This position will gather, edit, analyze, and report data/information in a defined area of research within well-defined parameters. Positions at this level complete defined assignments in the following areas under supervision and direction: preliminary literature searches; identification of population to be surveyed; questionnaire design; collection, compilation and management of data/information; quality assurance and quality control; analysis by statistical or other means; generation/production of new data/information; editing and formatting of reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Technical knowledge and skills in specific/content area(s) and ability to keep current with developments and trends in area(s) of research. Working knowledge of the research principles, technical methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry including methods of data entry, collection and analysis, and summarizing and reporting results. Working knowledge of statistics and related information technology. Knowledge may be acquired through academic and/or on-the-job training. Ability to follow established guidelines for assessing compliance with protocol and manuals of procedures and ability to suggest possible ways to improve the monitoring process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with human subjects in a clinical research setting. Preference will be given for individuals holding a clinical research certification (CCRP, CCRC, ACRP-CP, RAC).
