Job Description:

The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications from qualified candidates for two non-tenure track lecturer positions to teach courses in the Criminology/Criminal Justice Program beginning Fall 2021 through Spring 2022. Course teaching load is four courses per semester. Summer teaching is also available, however, is not guaranteed. Along with teaching, the successful candidate is expected to participate in faculty meetings and engage in service as requested by the department. Specialization is open, but experience with online and hybrid instructional formats is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Criminology.

  • A minimum of one-year college or university teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or A.B.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Experience teaching online and hybrid formats.

  • Experience teaching research methods and/or statistics.

  • Familiarity with non-traditional commuter University setting.

  • Experience in culturally diverse settings.

Finalists will be required to provide three current, original letters of recommendation and original transcripts to the Department Chair, Dr. Durant Frantzen (email: dfrantze@tamusa.edu).

Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
