The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an MD or MD/PhD or equivalent degree. Applicants must be board-eligible or certified in Neurology and Epilepsy and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care and education.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, fellows and trainees at all levels, both in clinical neurology and epileptology.

Clinical responsibilities may include acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, intracranial electroencephalography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT), intra and extraoperative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Responsibilities for this position include 70% clinical effort, with the rest of the time devoted to a combination of participation in clinical trials, teaching and administration. Experience and formal training in clinical trial design and management, particularly in neurodevices, is preferred, but not required.
