The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a Research Assistant. The incumbent in this position will facilitate communication between study investigators, data coordinating centers, NIH or other sponsoring agencies; plan and prepare for investigator meetings, presentations and assisting with scientific manuscripts. The Research Associate will work on the clinical research team of and assist with clinical research and scientific activities ranging from coordinating grants to initiating new clinical research programs, facilitating patient recruitment, assessments and intervention implementation as needed.

Responsibilities include maintenance of and compliance with all procedures and scientific protocols on multiple Bariatric control and prevention studies. The Research Associate will prepare operations manuals, study forms, and reports for grant writing. S/he will produce study accrual and retention updates and other materials, as well as performing scientific data entry and maintenance of data collection summaries.

Position Requirements (Essential Requirements):

High School diploma is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Position also requires excellent written and oral communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel programs required.

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

One year of relevant work in clinical research studies. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.
