Shift:

Primarily days, with core hours from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend and evening hours may be required as workload demands.

Job Summary:

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Community Coordinator for the HEALing Communities Study (HCS) grant to serve Boyd County. This is a four-year grant aimed to decrease opioid overdose deaths by 40 percent. The Community Coordinator will provide essential leadership to Boyd County, one of the 16 participating counties. Each Community Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and conducting the study according to the specific study protocol, ensure excellent communication about local study activities, and assure best practices are being optimized for data collection. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of both the leadership and community-level teams positioned to bring together talented and dedicated individuals from the university community, Kentucky state government and treatment providers, as well as community criminal justice and public health departments to address one of the nation’s biggest public health crises.

The Community Coordinator will not only provide all local supervision and project management oversight, but will also include the following responsibilities:
• Providing direction to Community Care Teams comprised of Prevention Specialists, Peer Prevention Specialists, Social Work and Nurse Navigators.
• Engaging local coalitions (i.e., ASAP boards) and other local community leaders to participate in and otherwise support the initiative.
• Collaborating with the Kentucky HEALing Communities Study Program Managers and other leadership team members to ensure community care teams are meeting all essential study-related requirements.
• Effectively communicating information from leadership to community care teams and vice versa.
• Developing day-to-day operations and allocation of resources (i.e. staffing, budget, space) for the community care team.
• Engaging team to proactively address potential issues and/or obstacles before they negatively impact research success.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Candidates must possess strong project and data management skill set, have extensive leadership and supervisory/team building experience, excellent collaboration, communication (oral & written), initiative, decision-making, emotional intelligence, and relationship management abilities. Candidates must also possess a high level of integrity and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Experience in managing large-scale research projects with human subjects. Graduate degree in related field desirable.
