Department Summary:

The Department of Linguistics’ focus is to provide quantitative and qualitative study of linguistics and language through research. We pursue the impact on cultural, social, computational endurance of language, enhance language learning and performance through innovative research, teaching, and service. We invite people who seek explanation for language as a fundamentally human process. Our focus is on but not limited to: language documentation and preservation, teaching English to speakers of other languages, human language technology, computational linguistics, etc. to advance learning, training, cognitive development, and human performance.

Position Summary:

Use knowledge of Tibeto-Burman languages to annotate Hakka Lai conversations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Attention to detail
Knowledge of research methods.
Critical thinking
Technical skills
Statistical and Graphical Analysis of Data
Planning and scheduling

Preferred Qualifications:

A degree in a field related to the study

Work Schedule:

19 hours/week
