Department Summary:

The Department of Chemistry offers diverse opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students interested in cutting-edge technology and research. We allow students to pursue their scientific creativity with guidance from leading chemistry faculty.

Position Summary:

The principle purpose of this position is to conduct research in the area of MOF/POP chemistry. The postdoctoral research associate will plan and execute experiments related to the synthesis of ligands and the design of MOF/POP materials for water treatment, contribute to writing proposals and papers, help to maintain laboratory equipment, and contribute to training and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science or chemical engineering
• Strong verbal and written communication skills a must

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in MOF/POP material is desirable
• Experience in organic synthesis would be beneficial
• Valuable know-how: SCXRD and PXRD
