This position is responsible for assisting the Dean of Student Services/Executive Director with the proper functioning and smooth operation of day-to-day student service administration. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

    Assists with development, revision, and implementation of projects within the DivisionMaintains disciplinary records and serves as advisor to campus disciplinary hearing committeesProcesses inquiries concerning studentsMeets with students for advisement purposes and resolves individual problemsPrepares comprehensive reports and analyses on enrollment, productivity, staffing and fiscal mattersPlans and monitors the budget operations of the Student Affairs officeAssists the Dean of Student Services/Executive Director in the development and planning of budget priorities for the DivisionAdvises managers on College policies and procedures, government regulationsChairs the Petition CommitteeCoordinates and monitors the commencement activities at the CampusAssumes responsibility of the Dean/Executive Director in his/her absence relating to student issuesSupervises ACCESS (Disability Services) personnel, as neededPerforms other duties as assigned

    Master’s degree in an appropriate field with two (2) years of experience in student service administration, teaching or other appropriate experience; or Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field with six (6) years of experience in student service administration, teaching or other appropriate experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals, and objectives, policies and proceduresAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraintsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to establish and maintain working relationships, present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general publicAbility to analyze a variety of administrative problems, to make sound recommendations as to their solution and to prepare working proceduresSkill in budget preparation and fiscal managementKnowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to areas of responsibilityAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignmentsAbility to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
