Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two years of experience in higher education working with student information systems, enrollment management, academic advising, or experience in a related field. Previous experience with marketing, data entry, customer service, and student success initiatives would be helpful. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Assist with implementing and supporting institution-wide success initiatives utilizing predictive analytics and case management technologies, such as Navigate EAB. Provide ongoing support, communication, consultation, training, and outreach activities to students, student services personnel, and faculty.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists with the implementation, communication, coordination, and evaluation of success technologies, such as Navigate EAB. Coordinates semester and year communication plan for departments in the Office of Enrollment Management. Gathers and updates information for bi-weekly success network e-mails for interdepartmental communication. Serves as a liaison for marketing and coordinating targeted student success media messaging across campus. Assists in the creation and maintenance of the Sam Houston State University Student Success Technology website to include writing and maintenance of content and webpage layout. Provides Navigate end-user support. Monitors department email and requests submitted by end users and triages requests. Addresses questions or issues as much as possible or elevates high-level questions and consults with the Director of Student Success Technologies and/or the vendor to resolve requests. Supports specialists and end-users by addressing functional questions/issues related to student success software. Shares information and platform updates as it becomes available from the vendor. Assists in the development and delivery of training and user support materials. Provides faculty and staff with group and individual training. Coordinates logistical arrangements for training sessions, meetings, and workshops. Aids departments in choosing departmental specific configurations and offers suggestions. Provides perpetual assistance and empowerment to end users to utilize reporting features to make data driven decisions. Monitors and updates platform use and user permissions across campus. Provides user reports and information to assist in making data driven decisions. Manages user access requests, registers users by role assignment, maintains records of active/deactivated users, etc. Prepares correspondence and assists with reports, bulletins, and informational materials. Assists in the development of policies and operational procedures for the overall department. Markets and promotes Navigate and its functions. Responsible for marketing and promotion of department initiatives and outcomes. Communicates strategies for campus outreach. Participates in the evaluation of policies and procedures related to these initiatives. Serves as a student success ambassador by promoting student success across campus. Assists in the coordination of these initiatives through end-user training and support, web site development, record keeping, technical support and system troubleshooting. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Success Technologies.

Ability to effectively collaborate with staff, faculty, and administrators. Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and presentation skills. Ability to identify and respond to educational trends and institutional needs. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Banner, DegreeWorks, and Navigate EAB. Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives. Ability to exercise discretion, excellent reasoning, and independent judgment. Skilled in directing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and organizing operations. Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
