Position Description:
Under the direction of the School of Nursing Assistant Dean of Administration/Human Resources Director, manage the process for academic titles, and perform other Human Resources functions as assigned, provide various monthly reports to Academic Affairs Associate Dean and other department managers as instructed.
Provide support for general related functions for populations as assigned such as onboarding, off boarding, and assist as needed in all annual re-appointment cycles. Comply with the Lecturer MOU manual and Academic Personnel Manual in coordinating the hiring for initial appointment, reappointment, and other actions related to academic personnel titles. The incumbent will perform complex pay and time reporting analyses, calculations, and transactions resolving pay disputes and effectively communicate resolution to employees and supervisors.
This position is an important part of the Academic Personnel process as it involves the tracking and oversight of Lecturers and Assistant Clinical Professor-Volunteer (ACP-V). The incumbent, under the direction of the Academic Personnel Manager, is responsible for processing personnel and payroll actions for Unit 18 Lecturers and continuing Lecturers. Follow up on pay discrepancies with UCPath to adhere to all University personnel and payroll policies and procedures, and applicable labor contracts. Independently and with the Program Directors, prepare documentation for appointment, hiring and merit increases for Lecturers. For Lecturers, follow review procedures in accordance with the Non-Senate Instructional Unit-18 labor union agreement. Initial Lecturer appraisals and track quarters employed. The incumbent may assist on an as needed basis with aspects of ladder faculty dossier preparation, particularly non-senate faculty- Adjuncts, Researchers and Visiting Scholars.
This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with faculty, students and staff, as well as, the ability to independently follow through on instructions and complete employment transactions in a timely manner.
