PROPERTY MANAGER, Post Award Financial Operations

The Property Manager is a key member of the Post Award Financial Operations team at Boston University. Major duties of this position include:

  • Manages the daily administration of the property management functions.
  • Enforces University policies and procedures related to moveable capital equipment.
  • Ensures that all moveable capital equipment is property tagged and identified with the university's property management system. -Reviews the university's depreciation of moveable capital equipment. Reviews moveable capital equipment transactions for accurate coding.
  • Performs training presentations related to property management for constituents across the university community.
  • Assists the Director, Research Finance with ad-hoc requests for property data analysis and other related assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a university or inventory management capacity
  • Intermediate skills utilizing Excel, including sophisticated formulas in order to acquire, prioritize, and analyze data
  • Experienced in analyzing data to determine relevant conclusions and suggest appropriate actions to management
  • Proven track record to multi-task and prioritize routine tasks and ad-hoc requests
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, demonstrating accuracy and quality of work output
  • Ability to work optimally and collaboratively in a small, collegial team environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, intellectually curious

Preferred Skills:

  • knowledge of University policies and procedures and federal regulations pertaining to the management of moveable capital equipment.
