Essential Job Duties:

The Ramirez lab at the Department of Applied Ecology, North Carolina State University, is seeking to hire a field technician to help in our projects in Puerto Rico. The individual will work within the frame of our StreamFRE project (https://luq.lter.network/) assessing the efforts of natural disturbances on stream ecosystems in natural and urban areas.
The candidate will be part of interdisciplinary programs investigating how climate change is affecting the diversity and function of tropical streams. The candidate is expected to help in our research projects in coordination and under the supervision of Dr. Alonso Ramirez

Department Required Skills:

-Experience in aquatic ecosystems, stream ecology or the study of benthic macroinvertebrates
-Highly motivated
-Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary research team

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

-Experience in tropical stream ecology, identifying tropical aquatic insects
-Good field skills
-Bilingual Spanish-English
