Verifies insurance benefits and obtains authorization as required. Communicates with physicians, coordinates M.D. to M.D. discussion. Coordinates between transferring facility, physicians and bed management in facilitating transfer. Effectively communicates with management as necessary. Uses several computer programs including Quest, Word, Signature and Passport. Accurately enters in to and maintains Transfer Center Data Base. Salary Range:
Required Qualifications: Experience in a hospital or medical office settingDemonstrated knowledge of healthcare insuranceDemonstrated experience with referral authorization processDemonstrated ability to interpret health plan benefit packages and make determinations Preferred Qualifications: Ability to ensure proper billing or financial procedures for patientsKnowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codesMust demonstrate general understanding of medical terminologyKnowledge of University policies and proceduresExperience working with MS Office Physical, Mental, & Environmental DemandsTo comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the essential physical, mental and environmental requirements for this job are listed below.
